The Angry Video Game Nerd |
The Angry Video Game Nerd (abbreviated as AVGN or The Nerd, and formerly known as The Angry Nintendo Nerd), is the main character of the popular internet video series of the same name, created by and starring James Rolfe.
The show is primarily about AVGN's bitter reviews of retro games and consoles that he deems as "worthless piles of trash". AVGN is commonly shown swearing and ranting about the game or console he is playing on, followed up by damaging it in some way and drinking a bottle of beer. In some episodes, most notably the "R.O.B. the Robot" episode, it expands from a review to a situation that requires AVGN to protect the city. He is shown to have a common hatred towards games based on movies.
In M.U.G.E.N, an Angry Video Game Nerd character was created by SSkye and an edit was made by thewrongsorcerer. As expected, his more powerful attacks involve certain iconic NES accessories such as the Super Scope and the Power Glove. He appears to be a sprite edit of Tohno Shiki from Melty Blood.
SSkye's version[]
While this may be a Tohno Shiki sprite edit, the resemblances stop there with this character, including the animation quality, which is far more static than the smooth animations of Melty Blood. While this Angry Video Game Nerd may carry a few retro gaming accessories, there's no beer and no swearing.
