The Legend of Zelda |
Cuccos are a species of bird from The Legend of Zelda series that resemble chickens. They first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past as docile NPC characters which can be attacked. A variant known as the Giant Cucco appears as a playable DLC character in Hyrule Warriors.
Normally docile, these domesticated birds can assist Link by acting as parachutes if Link grabs them, causing Link to glide in the air. On the other hand, if they are attacked by Link, they will initially attempt to flee from Link to avoid further harm; pursuing after them and continuing to attack will eventually cause them to crow loudly and summon more Cuccos to charge Link as a group, chasing after him and pecking at Link relentlessly until Link either escapes town, enters a building, or runs out of health. While they can still be attacked, this will not hinder their assault as they are completely immune to damage during this fury state, making them much more dangerous than even most bosses in the game. In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Cuccos can also enter their fury state if attacked by an enemy monster, though they will target their attacker instead of Link.
In M.U.G.E.N, Cucco has been made by RicePigeon as a joke character.
RicePigeon's version[]
Those who are familiar with The Legend of Zelda series should know what to expect when fighting this character. While its initial appearances may allow it to seem relatively harmless, hell hath no fury like a gaggle of enraged Cuccos, and one who is foolish enough in their attempt to strike it down will end up mercilessly juggled until their Life is depleted. Shame there aren't any nearby houses to make an escape into...
