Darkrai is a Dark-type Pokémon from the Pokémon series that also makes an appearance as a playable character in the 3D fighting game, Pokkén Tournament. It is a Mythical Pokémon native to the Sinnoh region, and is part of the Lunar duo along with Cresselia. It appears at #491 in the National Pokédex.
Darkrai has the power to inflict never-ending nightmares upon multiple people and Pokémon simultaneously, though this is not necessarily an act of malice, but rather an act of self-defence should it feel threatened; once a victim suffers from Darkrai's nightmares, the only way to wake them is to expose them to a Lunar Wing from Cresselia.
In M.U.G.E.N, Darkrai has been created by Shadow0X3 and Joey Faust. Shadow0X3's version uses sprites from Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, while Joey Faust's version uses custom sprites created by JoshR.
Shadow0X3's version[]
A very restrained character that comes in two different sizes, Darkrai only has one attack that can actually damage the opponent, while the rest of its moveset consists of a Power Charge, a teleport, a non-damaging grab of glitchy proportions, and a move that uses 3000 Power in exchange for a few seconds of much-needed life contemplation and invulnerability, though crouching negates the Power loss.
Joey Faust's version[]
One of the more polite characters by Joey Faust, Darkrai deems it inappropriate to burp in the opponent's face, instead firing dark balls of energy and summoning ghosts. It would seem as though Darkrai has been hitting the Pokémon Gym if its damage output is anything to go by, being capable of taking large chunks out of the opponent's Life with just a single attack; a living nightmare indeed.
