Gameplay[]

DXG705DeluxeStand

Classic Deluxe is a six-button character that uses the X, Y, or Z buttons that respond for punches and the A, B, or C buttons respond for kicks, where the X and A buttons respond for light Normals, Y and B to medium attacks and C and Z to heavy Normals. Most of his Normals are rather simple, where his crouching C trips the opponent, while his crouching Z is a Launcher, which can be also cancelled into his Super Jump. Apart from the Super Jump, Classic Deluxe also has a Dodge and a Power Charge, the former which can be also performed by holding either Right or Left, activating a forward dash dodge and a backdash dodge, respectively.

Classic Deluxe uses the Chain Comboing system, giving him high comboability. He can cancel his Normals from light to heavy, can cancel them into Specials and Hypers and can cancel Specials into Hypers, and as mentioned before, he can cancel his crouching Z into his Super Jump, allowing for Aerial Raves to be performed. His damage output is average, where his Aerial Rave combo can deal up to 180 damage, though it can also deal almost 200 damage if he uses the Z variation of Deluxe Uppercut, although this must be timed correctly. He also has a damage dampener, where the amount of damage decreases when Classic Deluxe performs a combo, though this doesn't apply to helper-based moves. Aside from the crouching Z as a Launcher, Classic Deluxe has another Launcher that can allow him to follow up with an Aerial Rave, being his sole Assist, Kaizo.

Classic Deluxe has a total of eight Specials; Glow Sphere is a simple projectile where Classic Deluxe fires a glow sphere from his hand, causing soft knockdown if the opponent is airborne; Diagonal Upwards Kick is a simple kick where Classic Deluxe jumps up diagonally, causing hard knockdown if the kick hits the opponent; Deluxe Uppercut is an uppercut where Classic Deluxe jumps up, and hitting the opponent three times, with it giving him invincibility during startup; Glow Scratch is a simple scratch where Classic Deluxe scratches his opponent, causing hard knockdown; Glow Sphere Kick is another projectile where Classic Deluxe kicks a glow sphere, and unlike the regular Glow Sphere, Glow Sphere Kick causes soft knockdown regardless if the opponent is standing or not, and can even absorb projectiles, though it will also bounce off the opponent if they hit the projectile, which will usually whiff unless the character is giant; Counter is, as the name suggests, a counter where Classic Deluxe punches the opponent if he's hit during frame 4 of the move, causing hard wall bounce if the opponent is near the wall, though the move does not counter projectiles, instead giving him invincibility for 0.27 seconds; Kaizo is an Assist where Classic Deluxe summons Kaizo to scratch the opponent three times, with the last hit causing hard knockdown and launching the opponent up; Deluxe is an another Assist where Deluxe throws an explosive shuriken, knocking the opponent down.

Classic Deluxe's Hypers, in addition to his combos, are decently strong, with having two level 1 and level 2 Hypers, and a sole level 3 Hyper; his level 1 Hypers are Sphere Barrage, a stronger version of Glow Sphere where Classic Deluxe fires 14 projectiles, causing soft knockdown even if the opponent is standing, and Glowing Kick, a move where Classic Deluxe charges into his opponent with his kick, causing hard knockdown, and both can be also used while airborne; his level 2 Hypers are Beam Fire, a projectile where Classic Deluxe fires a beam from his hands, causing hard knockdown, and it is impossible to avoid the move because it reaches the other side of the stage, forcing the opponent to jump in order to avoid its first hits, as well as Glowing Diagonal Upwards Kick, a stronger version of Diagonal Upwards Kick which deals more damage and goes faster, though it can be also blocked while airborne, while the regular Diagonal Upwards Kick cannot be blocked while airborne; his sole level 3 Hyper is Shun Deluxe Satsu, a.k.a Your Typical Raging Demon, a simple Raging Demon where Deluxe slides into his opponent and beats them once the screen fades to black.

Classic Deluxe has a custom A.I. that is rather challenging; it makes Classic Deluxe attack very often when close to the opponent and performs decent combos whenever he has a chance to, usually by done via his Normals and then Glow Scratch, usually followed by Glow Barrage. It will randomly use his level 2 Hypers if it decides to, and will occasionally use Power Charge to charge up Power. He also tends to block attacks a lot, which can make it slightly tougher to trap him in a combo.

Victory quotes[]

General[]

Wait, the match is already over? Well, that was quick...
Are you okay? I didn't mean to hurt you...
Excuse me? I did not cheat, you probably didn't have enough skill.
You look like you don't have any skill. I'd suggest training a bit, then show them your skill.
Victory is mine! Do I get a trophy for this?
Don't try to provoke me, or things will not end well for ya.
You must defeat... or avoid my Glow Sphere to stand a chance.
Don't feel sad! You still have potential of being that good.
Wait, I was that good and I won without losing any HP?! Awesome!
Perfect victory
Phew, that was close.

We both make a great team, Kaizo

Hope you liked the decreased difficulty of this fight, Kaizo!

You okay there, Kaizo?
vs. Kaizo
I wanna see you win next time. Chances are high for you, my bro.
vs. Kaizo
It's-a-you, Mario!
vs. Mario
Your taunt won't be an OHKO anytime soon, right?
vs. Luigi
I'll admit, without armour in some of your moves, you would have been a low tier for multiple Smash games in a row.
vs. Bowser
Gotta go fast indeed!
vs. Sonic
Well, I'm OKAY with this match.
vs. Ness
WAHOO!
vs. Klonoa
Hold on, let me find something great for you to make you happier...
vs. Noob
And now I've showed you my moves. How do you like them?
vs. Captain Falcon
You're honestly much more adorable than Pika. Come on... just so adorable.
vs. Pichu
Wanna play and have fun with me?
vs. Celebi
You might be hungry. Hold on, let me get some food for you!
vs. Marx (normal)
You'll still fly on, even after your defeat... until your limit arrives.
vs. Rock Howard
Marx, are you okay? I didn't mean to do that... are you just hungry?
vs. Marx (boss)
OH MY... THAT SCREAM. It might as well as be remembered for being one of the most blood-curdling screams ever.
vs. Marx Soul
Maybe I could also show the Power of a best friend with ya, Mags. Don't you think?
vs. Magolor
I honestly feel sorry after you were butchered in Melee so badly...
vs. Kirby
You truly did make people see your Power in Brawl.
vs. Meta Knight
I'm afraid you're not the king of chaingrabs anymore.
vs. King Dedede
You may be small, but your spear is something that's definitely not a joke.
vs. Bandana Waddle Dee
How was your grab range THAT good when you debuted in Smash?
vs. Marth
Even if you're a low tier in Melee, you're honestly fun to play as for various players
vs. Roy
You'll truly be the most iconic of the flock.
vs. Red
I think I can give you a free egg. Sorry, I have no golden ones.
vs. Minion Pig
Haha! Your cheapness couldn't even help you! Take that, overpraised pig!
vs. Minion Pig (M)
For a mouse, you're just too adorable. I actually wanna hug you.
vs. Chuih
Your game is truly hard, but it deserves more praise.
vs. Yumetaro
Honestly, you were indeed an interesting surprise given how famous Chaos Faction is.
vs. Vortigon
I feel sorry for you after the company that developed your game went bankrupt...
vs. DeMille
Wow, it feels so good winning with one of my favourite characters. Awesome!
With these aforementioned characters as a teammate in simul matches (except for Minion Pig (M))
How stupid you were to think you would win?!
vs. Arsenal Cheater
You really think you could copy me, imposter? Think harder.
vs. Deluxe (mirror match)
I am not gonna be proud of this thing ever again. Now, you get out of my sight right now!
vs. BartekZioomPro (paletteswap of SM853's Mario edit)

Trivia[]

  • Deluxe features a "Projectile Immunity" mode that activates when fighting against Minion Pig (M). Deluxe also has a special intro against the latter.
  • Deluxe also features a mode against certain NSFW characters that remove his hurtboxes.
  • Aside from having a special intro against Minion Pig (M), Deluxe also has special intros against Mario, Marx, Arsenal Cheater and BartekZioomPro, the latter which is a paletteswap of SM853's Mario edit.
    • Deluxe has two intros against Marx, one which is used when fighting against the same creator's Marx and one when fighting against OHMSBY's version.
  • Deluxe's Charging Kick Hyper was inspired by Captain Falcon's Falcon Kick. The difference, however, is that Charging Kick does not launch the opponent up and instead is a multi-hit move.
  • Many of Deluxe's character-specific victory quotes are references to some other media the characters have appeared, including their features.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against Luigi is a reference to the fact that Luigi's down taunt has a hitbox and high knockback.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against Bowser is a reference to him having various types of armor in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in several of his moves.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against Captain Falcon is an obvious reference to Falcon's "Show me your moves!" line.

    • Deluxe's victory quote against Meta Knight is a reference to his placement in the Super Smash Bros. Brawl tier lists, where he was ranked first.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against King Dedede is a reference to the fact that in Brawl, Dedede was notable for his chain grab that could be performed with his down throw. This was removed in Smash 4 after Dedede grab game was nerfed.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against Marth is a reference to his grab range in Melee.
    • Deluxe's victory quote against DeMille is a reference to the fact that AlphaDream, the developer of Tomato Adventure, went bankrupt in 2019.
