The Egg Drillster (also known as the Egg Mobile-D) is a vehicle from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Created by Dr. Eggman as one of the many modifications to his signature Egg Mobile, its appearance resembles a four-wheeled armoured dune-buggy with a large spinning drill on the front. The Egg Drillster's chassis can link with the Egg Mobile, providing the latter with both a cockpit and a makeshift escape pod in case the former is destroyed.
First appearing Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the Egg Drillster encountered during Act 2 of Emerald Hill Zone, where it is the first boss of the game. During the boss fight, it continually drives back and forth in an attempt to hit Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails with its drill. It can take a total of eight hits before being destroyed; Dr. Eggman fires the vehicle's drill after the seventh hit as a last-ditch effort to defeat Sonic and Tails. After taking the eighth and final hit, the Egg Drilster's chassis explodes and Dr. Eggman flies off in his Egg Mobile. It returned as a boss in Sonic Advance, and a newer, more-refined version serves as Dr. Eggman's personal racing car in Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, where it is named the "Egg Drillster Mk.II".
In M.U.G.E.N, the Egg Drillster has been made once by NeoKamek under the name of "Stupid Little Drill Tank".
NeoKamek's version[]
Those who remember the Egg Drillster boss fight from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 might have an understanding as to why this character has the name of 'Stupid Little Drill Tank', as it behaves exactly like it does in the source game, but with the average character only being able to take up to five hits from the drill. Due to its A.I.-only nature, the Stupid Little Drill Tank cannot be controlled by a human player.
