This version of Jean is inspired by her appearance in the 90's X-Men cartoon, and instead of being reignited with her Phoenix Force powers, instead she's equipped with just her base telepathic skills. Her gameplay is inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom 2, with moves pulled from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and her various other media appearances. However, she does contain a few easily loopable combos that can become infinites.
Jean Grey is a 6-button character that uses a Marvel vs. Capcom-inspired control scheme, with and used for punches and kicks, and additional features such as a Super Jump and a Push Block.
It is meant to be a zoning character that sets up with projectiles and special moves, before comboing off of them for good damage returns. To compensate for its numerous attack options, Jean Grey has below average Life.
Though it can deal lots of damage through prolonged combo strings, it in turn is doomed by long enough combos if it is attacked. The ideal strategy is to take advantage of Jean's aerial capabilities to maintain distance from the opponent, then set up with projectiles while safe.
A problem with this version, however, is that it contains a few easy-to-do infinite combos, such as attacks done while in flight mode, or spamming special attacks to juggle the opponent in the air, preventing them from attacking.
Jean Grey currently has no A.I., and as such is set to use the default M.U.G.E.N A.I. instead.
