Dude is a standard six-button character with three kick buttons and three punch buttons, respectively assigned to and , that denote the strength of the Normal Attack associated with it, with Ⓐ and Ⓧ being the weaker, less punishable Normals, and Ⓒ and Ⓩ being the stronger, more punishable Normals. He carries the groove select mechanic of Capcom vs SNK 2, changing his gameplay and movement mechanics depending on the groove, including a configurable EX groove. He has chains from his lights, but mostly has links from safe moves like crouching Ⓧ, crouching Ⓨ and crouching Ⓐ, and can cancel said moves into Specials or Hypers.
Dude is a rushdown character, relying on getting into midrange to pressure the opponent. He requires a lot of patience, as a majority of his good pokes can get beaten out due to their speed. He has 3 Special moves; Elbow, Uppercut and Knee. Elbow is primarily a combo tool, used to produce big meterless damage. It is juggleable, and should optimally be comboed into either his standing Ⓨ or Uppercut special. Uppercut is a standard uppercut attack, which has invincibility frames and functions as Dude's anti air special. Knee is a very fast hop attack, used as a quick approach option while also attacking at the same time. It is a good ender for combos, and can be used in throw setups and short jump anti air situations. He has 2 Hyper moves; Double Slam, a command grab that is unblockable and cancellable when done as a level 2, and Super Uppercut, a super version of Uppercut that deals big damage when juggled from Elbow.
Dude has no projectile moves, making him vulnerable to zoning characters. He relies on smart jumps and certain groove mechanics, such as rolling present in the C, A, and N grooves, in tandem with smart positioning in order to close space. Alternatively, he can roll cancel, which is the act of cancelling a roll into a special within a few frames of its startup, and fly through projectiles with Elbow or Knee Specials. He is also very sluggish, similar to larger characters, making his struggles with zoning more apparent.

A.I. that is designed similarly to Warusaki3's A.I. patches. It plays very smart, using all of Dude's optimal combos and setups, which would pose a good challenge to experienced fighters. The A.I. also has a tendency to teabag when at a safe distance, as opposed to taunting.
EX Dude is a standard six-button character with three kick buttons and three punch buttons, respectively assigned to and , that denote the strength of the Normal Attack associated with it, with Ⓐ and Ⓧ being the weaker, less punishable Normals, and Ⓒ and Ⓩ being the stronger, more punishable Normals. EX Dude is an agile character, able to punish his opponents from considerable distances without mush risk. His versatile moveset allows for more freedom in neutral. EX Dude has many solid combos and confirms, but is hampered by a generally poor damage output. His fast aerial movement allows for easy pressure. His Ballerina Spin is his most common meterless combo-ender. His Flash Cutter is his best meterless answer to aerial approaches from closer distances. His Cannon Kicks special can be used to close distance between the opponent quickly, and when done in the air, can avoid a lot of projectile moves. If timed correctly, Cannon Kicks can be linked into Ballerina Spin to extend combos. Head First is air unblockable, and offers an easy knockdown. Most of EX Dude's Supers serve as combo enders, although Delta Cutter is particularly useful as an anti-air thanks to being air unblockable. Sky Throw is EX Dude's Level 3 only Super; an unblockable anti-air grab with long range, suitable for punishing jumps from considerable distance. It cannot grab opponents on the ground, so timing is crucial when utilizing it.
