Created in a similar vein to the creator's versions of Doraemon, Nobita has a gameplay style that's rather difficult to describe as it doesn't fit any particular fighting game style. With a rather weak combo ability, some unusual "long-con" projectiles and almost no aerial or crouching attacks, Nobita is unlikely to be winning many fights on his own.

Nobita is a six-button character that plays like a three-button character, with A, B, or C used for Normals and Specials, and X, Y, or Z used for Hypers. Nobita also has access to a counter while blocking an attack (activated with A+B). He also lacks Normal attacks while crouching.

Nobita can cancel his A Normal into his C Normal, or cancel into a Special or Hyper attack. When in the air, Nobita can cancel any of his Normals into ちく電スーツ. Aside from these however, Nobita cannot cancel out of any other moves, which limits his overall combo ability. Nobita's B Normal is extremely difficult to make good use of, as it comes out behind Nobita rather than in front like most Normal attacks.

Nobita has a rather short melee range overall, on account of physical size being smaller than normal opponents. ちく電スーツ creates a decently large hitbox around Nobita and is his only method of attacking while crouching, but requires very rapid mashing of one of the A, B, or C buttons to use. からだポンプ is easier to use in comparison and deals more damage, though it has a longer startup time and smaller range and damage output. ジャイアン登場 and ドンブラ粉 are similar in that they both dash towards the opponent before attacking; the former is a dash-like attack while the latter functions more like a roll dodge with an attack phase at the end. マジックハンド has a very short horizontal range, but a decent vertical range and deals Move knocks down opponent on hit. 空とぶうす手じゅうたん is by far Nobita's largest-range melee attack, and is fairly difficult to dodge due to the speed at which it comes out. 秘剣電光丸 is a Move counterattacks if struck by an opposing attack that can be used to catch an opponent off-guard, as it has a short startup time and inflicts Move knocks down opponent on hit.

Nobita has a number of projectile attacks to use. シャボン玉ピストル goes directly upwards similarly to マジックハンド, but can also launch opponents. This launching effect might seem difficult to make use of at first, since Nobita has very few aerial moves, but it can be effectively followed up with certain Hypers such as ドラえも~ん!!. ショックガン is a simple projectile attack that has decent knockback, making it a good move to keep distance. 機械化機 allows Nobita to freely control a Doraemon Move is attributed as a projectile, but leaves himself open to attack until either Doraemon hits the opponent or until something hits Nobita.

Nobita also has some unorthodox "long-con" projectiles that have extremely long delays between the initial attack and a Move is attributed as a projectile that does much (if not all) of the actual damage. 星とりあみとハンマー appears to be a simple melee attack at first, but several seconds after use a shooting star will fall from the sky. Multiple stars can be active at once, potentially allowing Nobita to create a flurry of projectiles to storm the opponent with under the right conditions. 10分おくれの念力 also creates a projectile every time it is used, though it is far less useful as the projectile is invisible even when active, making it hard to judge where exactly it is. 10分おくれの瞬間移動 functions similarly to 10分おくれの念力, but rather than attacking the opponent, it will cause Nobita to teleport directly to the opponent after a long period of time.

Nobita's Hypers are rather simple, as all of them use 1000 Power and have few special perks unlike his Specials. 空気ピストル is a barrage of small projectiles that inflict Move knocks down opponent on hit, but are easy to block since only one needs to be blocked, as the hitstun between each projectile will be small enough to automatically block the rest. ジャイアンコンボ is easier to break out of and only inflicts Move knocks down opponent on hit on the last hit, but the non-constant pace of Nobita makes it somewhat awkward for the opponent to judge the timing of the block. ドラえも~ん!! has the shortest range of the three Hypers and doesn't inflict knockdown at all, but deals the most damage and knocks the opponent far away after use.

Nobita possesses a very unusual, likely unintentional form of anti-F2 key protection in the form of his SIZUPON move. When Nobita reaches 5 or less Life (which can be easily achieved with the aeformentioned F2 key, which sets both the opponent's and Nobita's life to 1), Shizuka will appear and automatically heal Nobita for as long as she is active. Because it is very unlikely for Nobita to reach 5 or less Life in an actual fight (as it is much easier to deal enough damage to K.O. Nobita than it is to land in that range), this move is extremely rare as a result.

Nobita uses M.U.G.E.N's default A.I., and thus tends to jump around and attack somewhat infrequently. While he isn't very difficult to beat, his small size may be difficult to hit, especially for larger characters.
