This version of Charmander might have a bit of trouble with attempting to combo and deal some damage thanks to requiring precise timing and having a rather low damage output, but has stronger attacks that require Power and can easily use its weak attacks very quickly. Featuring also a limited moveset, Charmander might have some problems with winning matches.

Charmander

Charmander is a six-button character with a rather unconventional playstyle. It uses the A, B and C buttons for weak attacks, while its strong attacks use the X, Y and Z buttons. Its strong attacks require Power, however. Charmander also has a Power Charge, which is performed by holding the Start button, but strangely, the Power can be charged even if Charmander's Power is full.

Charmander's comboability is quite limited; while it can cancel its weak attacks into other ones, this requires precise timing, and it's very hard to do so. However, Charmander can spam its weak attacks quickly at the opponent if they are timed well, which can result in a short infinite via button mashing. However, Charmander's damage output is rather low, with its weak attacks dealing no more than 20 damage, although its strong attacks deal more damage, above 100.

Charmander's strong attacks were likely intended to be Hypers, given their Power usage, but are all attributed as Normals. These attacks are named as Metal Claw, Ember, and Flametroew [sic]. Metal Claw shows Charmander turning into metal and attacking its opponents, Ember sees Charmander firing several projectiles (although they aren't actually attributed as projectiles), but the move will easily miss when used too close to the opponent, while Flametroew [sic] sees Charmander breathing fire, causing soft knockdown on the final hit. Metal Claw requires 800 Power to use, while Ember and Flametroew [sic] require 1000 and 1700 Power to use, respectively.

Charmander lacks any sort of custom A.I. and instead uses the default A.I. provided by the engine. As a result, it mostly moves around the stage while jumping and randomly attacking, making it an unchallenging opponent.
