Hyper Dragon Ball Z is a M.U.G.E.N fullgame created by Team Z2 (a group of creators including Cybaster, Balthazar, and many others), and based on the Dragon Ball manga and anime franchise. The game was created in an attempt to improve the reputation of Dragon Ball content in M.U.G.E.N, which at the time had a reputation for being overpowered or of low quality.

Hyper Dragon Ball Z has since become one of the most well known fullgames in M.U.G.E.N's history, being the subject of articles by major gaming websites such as PC Gamer.

Gameplay

Hyper Dragon Ball Z is a six-button game, using for kicks and for punches. In addition to this, all characters have access to air dashes (/), Super Jumps (), an Alpha Counter (called a Zetto Counter) which can be performed in the air in addition to the ground, a Focus Attack that can be charged by holding [ Ⓒ+Ⓩ ], and a Power Charge by holding [ Ⓑ+Ⓨ ]. If two characters dash into each other, a Power Struggle will ensue; whoever presses the most buttons during this time is rewarded with a throw.
