Despite being one of the earlier versions of Iron Man, it manages to be based off Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but seems to be more akin to the former. It also boasts some superior tech in the form of a new Special, Hyper and War Machine striker.
Iron Man uses six buttons and is based off both Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Its six button layout may make it more akin to the former, but it has no infinity gem system.
Iron Man is similar to the source games in that it manages to have a good combo and zoning game. Most of its moves have wide range, and its Hypers do a decent amount of damage. In addition, Iron Man also has partial super armor, and won't flinch if hit with certain moves (mostly Basics). Also, if start is held while selecting this version, the golden mode is activated. In this mode, Iron Man has stronger super armor, but is slower, can't fly, and has worse combo ability.
Iron Man's A.I isn't very strong, making it a recommended opponent for inexperienced players.
