As the creator's third ''Vs.''-style conversion after Roll and Rogue, Jin opts to be based on the original ''Marvel vs. Capcom.'' He may not be the most accurate to it, but he definitely does the part well, and his configurable A.I. difficulty may make him accessible to players of various skill levels.

Origin

Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness

Jin Saotome is the main character of the fighting game Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness. He appears always dressed in pure white, with a billowing scarf behind him, and will occasionally have mood shifts between calmness and rage.

His father, Ken Saotome, belonged to a unit that was killed in an accident one year before the events of Cyberbots. Because of this, Jin seeks to become the greatest Variant Armor pilot in history and wants to prove his worth through the VA battle circuit. He starts questioning the death of his father after meeting Shade, whom is later revealed to be responsible for. He pilots the BX-02 BLODIA, a reworked model.

Other than Cyberbots, Jin has also appeared in Marvel vs. Capcom and its sequel, alongside being an unlockable character in Tech Romancer, where he is also seen piloting BLODIA. He later made minor cameos in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, seen in the Days of Future Past stage, Hawkeye's ending, and in the game's Heroes and Heralds mode alongside his mech as individual support cards.

In M.U.G.E.N, Jin Saotome has been made by various authors, who usually tend to base him off of his Marvel vs. Capcom appearances.

Sunboy's version

SunboyJinIdle

As the first version of Jin made for the engine, Sunboy's version seeks to become the greatest Variant Armor pilot around and... bring balance to the universe? Not really, but this version's inclusion of the Infinity Stones and their mechanics from Marvel Super Heroes may make this version unique to some, especially since Jin never appeared in that specific game.

As the creator's third Vs.-style conversion after Roll and Rogue, Jin is obviously based on the original Marvel vs. Capcom. He may not be the most accurate to it, but he definitely does the part well, and his configurable A.I. difficulty may make him accessible to players of various skill levels.
