Lucas is the main protagonist of the third and final game in the Mother series, Mother 3, which was released in 2006 exclusively in Japan, he has also appeared in the Super Smash Bros. games, starting in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and then reappearing in the two games following, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

He's a mostly shy and timid boy, unlike Ninten and Ness, he has no interest in baseball and is more into nature, he lives in Tazmily Village with his family, which consist of him, his older twin brother Claus, his parents, Flint and Hinawa, and his dog, Boney. As with the other series protagonists, he has magical PSI powers, including his exclusive "PK Love", which is similar to Ness' "PK Rockin'".

In M.U.G.E.N, Lucas has been created by various authors.
