Marx is a major antagonist from the Kirby series, first appearing in Kirby Super Star and its remake Kirby Super Star Ultra as the main antagonist and final boss of Milky Way Wishes. Marx also appears in Kirby Super Star Ultra's The True Arena in a zombified form known as Marx Soul.
Marx originally appears to Kirby to recruit his assistance in ceasing a fight between the sun and moon of Planet Popstar, telling him that the only way to accomplish this is to gather the power of the surrounding stars to summon Nova, a planet-sized mechanical entity capable of granting wishes; this however turns out to be a ruse, as Marx was the one who instigated the conflict between the sun and moon in the first place and used this conflict to deceive Kirby into summoning Nova for him, with the intention of using Nova's power for himself to conquer Pop Star. Kirby is then forced to destroy both Nova and Marx in order to protect Pop Star; however, Marx's body begins to absorb the leftover energy from Nova's destruction, corrupting him and turning him into the grotesque entity known as Marx Soul.
In M.U.G.E.N, Marx has been made by MaruGao, megagamer923, OHMSBY and DeluxeGamer705. MaruGao's version has been edited by C12cristitan12 to remove the A.I.-only functions and makes it less powerful.
MaruGao's version
[]
Being very accurate to his boss fight apperance in Kirby Super Star, Marx is an opponent controlled by the A.I., making him feel like an unplayable character given the A.I.-only control. His above average damage output and a weak point that still causes damage to the opponent even if hit will truly mean that Marx might cause mischief as much as he wants, especially with some other palettes that would make him control Popstar.
DeluxeGamer705's version[]
Battles with Marx are usually considered boss fights. In M.U.G.E.N, this one is actually an exception, as this version of the cosmic jester plays like a regular character instead of a boss character. This jester can even use some attacks from his apperances as a boss, with even being equipped with some moves he never used as a boss. He also seems to be much kinder and not that evil, with some of his victory quotes not showing anything evil in him.
