Samurai Shodown |
Nakoruru is a character from the Samurai Shodown series, appearing in most games of the series including spin-offs and crossover games. She is based on the indeginous Ainu people and values nature greatly, dressed in an attusi robe with a headdress and ribbon on her head. She also has an adopted hawk named Mamahaha, who commonly aids her in battle.
Her role in the Samurai Shodown series was initially due to her sensing that her father was in danger. She later accepts the role of being the new Kamui warrior of the Kamui Kotan village, following in her father's footsteps after learning he was killed and not wanting to put her sister Rimururu at risk. She would continue to face various villains alongside the series protagonist Haohmaru before eventually sacrificing herself to become one with the spirit of nature after overthrowing Mizuki Rashojin. Outside of the Samurai Shodown series, she has appeared in a visual novel, Nakoruru: Ano Hito kara no Okurimono, where she served as the primary priestess of Kamui Kotan, and The King of Fighters XIV, where she travels to the present as a result of sensing Verse in the time-space continuum. In the latter, she decides to stay in the present universe, sensing that Verse may be revived.
In M.U.G.E.N, Nakoruru was made by various creators, with her most notable versions being based on the Capcom vs. SNK series.
PotS' version[]
This version of the Kamui priestess combines her strengths from Capcom vs. SNK 2 and the Samurai Shodown titles with the strengths of each Groove from the former game, similar to other creations made in the creator's style. True to these appearances, Nakoruru is a nimble character with a focus on spotting mistakes and keeping a good distance, blending tricky movements and versatile usage of her hawk Mamahaha with strong linking ability and newfound reversals.
