Ray the Flying Squirrel is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. A close friend of Mighty the Armadillo, he is a master at gliding and can use his tail in various ways during combat. Ray is shown to be confident, friendly and highly energetic, although he can be easily distracted. His Archie Comics counterpart also depicts him with a stutter.
His first appearance was in the arcade game SegaSonic the Hedgehog, where he served as one of the game's three playable characters alongside Mighty and Sonic the Hedgehog himself. Aside from the non-canon Archie Comics and a minor cameo in Sonic Generations, Ray would essentially vanish from the franchise until both him and Mighty made their grand return in Sonic Mania Plus, where they were once again included as playable characters. To differentiate his playstyle slightly to the other playable characters, Ray has the ability to glide from a jump and control the angle of his descent, an ability shared by his real-world inspiration.
In M.U.G.E.N, Ray the Flying Squirrel has been made by MUGENHunter and Crowsar.
MUGENHunter's version[]
After having lived the process of puberty in both physical appareance and voice, it seems this Ray uses a moveset of newly learned Muay Thai. Altough his usual distracted self will prevent him to go too hard on his opponents, watch for the time he'll actually got you in his supers and/or kick combos.
