Shadow the Hedgehog is a character from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Initially created as a polar opposite to match Sonic in both abilities and speed, Shadow is a recurrent arch-rival to the blue blur. His trademark power, Chaos Control, allows him to teleport via the use of a Chaos Emerald.
Introduced in Sonic Adventure 2 as an antagonist, he was created over fifty years ago as part of "Project Shadow" through infusing him with the DNA of the Black Arms by Eggman's grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, in an attempt to achieve immortality, and also find a cure for the illness plaguing his granddaughter, Maria. After the Guardian Units of Nations (G.U.N.) raided the Ark and captured him, he remained in stasis for decades until he was freed by Dr. Eggman to assist in his plans for world conquest. After Sonic and his friends help him in regaining his memories, Shadow has since become more of an anti-hero character: moving on from his past life and committing himself to serving Maria's dying wish, often joining forces with Sonic and his friends to protect the planet from whatever threats it faces, even if he does so on his own terms.
In M.U.G.E.N, Shadow has been made by various creators, but the two most notable are by MUGENHunter and ABAB. MUGENHunter has made two versions of Shadow, with his second version being edited two times by Dylanius9000 and Shiruzato.
MUGENHunter's second version

This version of Shadow uses custom sprites, a four-button layout and The King of Fighters-style gameplay, like MUGENHunter's other characters. He has moderate comboability, but a low damage output and almost no projectiles.
Dylanius9000's version
While this version uses the sprites from MUGENHunter's second version, his gameplay is completely different, having Veanko's gameplay style. Ironically, he actually relies on projectiles rather than lacking them. He also seems to have learnt some moves from Dio Brando.
