2007.. around the same time I discovered the internet was more than misinformation and strange forums, I discovered Mugen. First video I watched was the most stereotypical thing ever. Youkai's Naruto and Sasuke-Kun vs Team SMRT's Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin. I think to myself "Whoa, this thing's awesome! I must have it!" I then failed to download Mugen until 2013.
Wha' bout you guys? When did you first learn of Mugen?
I've known about MUGEN for years, though I didn't know what it was when I first saw it (and I didn't have personal access to the Internet, so it's not like I could've downloaded it anyway). Fast-forward to 2010 when one night I decided to rummage through my drawers and I found a bunch of those Bohrok, thinking to myself 'these would make interesting fighting game characters. What was that thing called again? M.U.G.E.N? Yes, download that. Sounds like a plan.'. To this day, I have yet to make them :P
I know I first found out about M.U.G.E.N back in like, 2000-something, like somewhere around 2007 or something, back on youtube. I think I discovered M.U.G.E.N by watching some videos about it made by Fleskhjerta, and I sort of started watching other MUGEN videos from there.
...Although I sort of forgot that it existed until like, a year or two ago. But hey, I have M.U.G.E.N now, and I'm planning to look into how to create a character so I have something else to do when I have free time. I'm pretty sure Lil' Namefound from 2007 or whatever would be so jealous.
I first learned of it in 2004 but didnt start playing until 2009. Huh I was so stupid skipping an choice MUGEN or KOF WING I choose KOF because I knew what KOF was but in the wise words of OVA DIO "Your thinking is like a rat turd in a pit.' Ah I wish I couldgo back and say to myself "Screw KOF play the crap out of MUGEN!!" Needless to say MUGEN is a great engine. Here's a quick story. Once I actually sold MUGEN on disk at my school. I think we know what happened. But hey $20 more was good enough for me!
Two stories, one when its just fucking weird and another when I actually got attached.
Story one, I was looking at.. uh, stuff. And I see a video where it is everyone from Sailor Mercury to Sailor Neptune fighting a character called Slime Plus. I never knew what Mugen was at the time, but I cannot get this off the back of my mind.
Story two, this time, I was looking at steam art by NotYourSagittarius, and I found this one particular gif called "judas_roundstart," some guy commented asking if they were making a character for Mugen, curiosity hit me, and I looked up Mugen.
Youtube then I thought it was called megan and then I thought the game was dangerous because I went to a dangerous website (the chrome red webpage screen appeared saying it was dangerous) last year I felt stupid because it was not dangerous but I thought it would take up too much space because people be putting 1000 to 2000 people on their rosters before I found out it was 40 MB so I downloaded it. Fun Fact: my first character I downloaded was Hamtaro
I watched MUGEN vids on YouTube before, but then I was thinking about that, So I got WinMUGEN. Later, I stopped playing that game until 2017. All I know that I have are WinMUGEN, MUGEN 1.0 and 1.1. I create characters and stages for that. So, that's why I discovered M.U.G.E.N.
